Satellite imagery-based proof of the transferability of field trial results

A new service to reduce the number of agricultural field trials

Site Similarity Certification (SSC) is meant to prove the comparability of cropping sites by the use of satellite imagery.

• Pesticide producers
• Seed producers and
• consultancies which are specilised in the management of registration processes and/or of field trials

can benefit from a Site Similarity Certification.

For the comparison of two agricultural sites several different parameters are used in addition to satellite images, such as weather, phenology, soil characteristics and yield of cultivated crops. These site properties are processed and analysed, using state-of-the-art database and software technologies.

In order to cope with much individual customers' requirements and a highly diversified field of applications, three different pre-defined SSC products have been developed, which differ in the level of complexity and the number of comparison parameters.
